Student Meal Status

Meyer Elementary, Woolls Intermediate and McDowell Middle Schools will be participating in the meal program CEP (Community Eligibility Provision). All students attending these three campuses will receive daily One FREE Breakfast and One FREE Lunch. No application is necessary.

Households that have students attending Hondo High School that received a pre-approval letter for school meal benefits, please Do Not fill out an application. If you are not sure if you need to fill out an application for your household please contact Paul Segura, Child Nutrition Director at 830-426-7600.

For the first 30 operating days of the 2017-2018 school year, students attending Hondo ISD during the 2016-2017 school year who qualified for free or reduced-price meals are temporarily approved at the same status.

Please submit ONLY ONE application per household. Duplicate applications are discarded.

Applications are available online under the School Meals Application and Information tab, at each campus or at the Child Nutrition Director's Office.

The temporary carry over status for students in grades 9 - 12 will end on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. The meal status of children whose parents do not complete and submit a new application before the deadline will change to a full paid status. Beginning Wednesday, October 4, 2017, these students will be required to pay full price for their lunch. Hondo HS: $2.65 daily. Breakfast is free for all Hondo ISD students.
Parents may send money or a sack lunch for their children while their meal application is being processed. Applications may take up to 10 days from the day Child Nutrition office receives and stamps the application to the day parents are notified of their child/rens meal status. Parents will be responsible to pay all charges to student meal accounts incurred before the application is processed.

Parents may submit a completed application by bringing it to the Child Nutrition Central Office office at 102 18th Street in Hondo or send it with their child to be given to the teacher or to the campus cafeteria cashier. Meal applications will not be accepted on the serving line during breakfast and lunch service. The manager will accept meal applications away from the serving line during breakfast and lunch meal service.

We encourage ALL Hondo HS parents to submit completed meal applications as soon as possible for children to receive their meal benefits on the first day of school.
